Kirkcudbright Sailing Club

Kirkcudbright Sailing Club is a small, friendly club, situated on the River Dee west of Kirkcudbright Harbour and beside the Marina. We have our own slipway, but because of insurance restrictions, this can only be used by members. However, family membership costs a modest £45 for the year (or £40 if paid before 30 June) (applications should be made to the Honorary Secretary – see below). Facilities also include a yard for storage of tenders, inflatables and boats up to 24 feet in length, although membership does not guarantee storage and this needs to be negotiated with the Treasurer.

Holiday membership is available to visitors who are already members of an RYA affiliated club. The charge is £10 per week plus a £20 (returnable) key deposit. Visitors who are not members of an RYA affiliated club can apply to join the club as full members (see above)

We arrange a good racing calendar between June and September. We also try to arrange small flotilla day and weekend cruises, weather permitting, but some of our members are very keen cruisers and go much further afield.

We hold a “beer and blether” on the second Tuesday of every month (between April and September) and the second and fourth Tuesdays of every month (between October and March) at the clubhouse at 7.30pm. Please come along if you’d like to meet fellow boaties or learn more about the club.
