The list isn’t exhaustive. It doesn’t detail all the things that are here all the time – the colourful streets, the attractive shops, the harbour, the beaches and the beautiful countryside around us they are all here waiting to be explored.

Explore this historic kirkyard with members of Kirkcudbright History Society.

The tour lasts an hour approximately and covers the history of the area and identifies a variety of interesting headstones.

There is rough walking and steps are involved.

Kirkcudbright Scottish Night @ Harbour Square Car Park

pipe-bandHeld in the Harbour Square, a natural arena in the middle of town, the night features a mixture of traditional Scottish Pipe music from our award winning Kirkcudbright and District Pipe Band supported by the Stewartry Area Wind Band and Galloway Pipers, Scottish Country Dancers, Highland Dancers and other traditional entertainment including the World Famous UNBEATEN Kirkcudbright Tug o’ War Team.

The night starts at 19:00 with a special guest act who will add colour to our event and entertain the crowds to a variety of different cultural experiences.

Going from strength to strength Kirkcudbright’s award winning trail is not to be missed. Over four days artists, craftmakers, halls, galleries and businesses open their doors. You will be able to step inside their homes, studios and workshops, enjoy beautiful gardens and ‘have a go’ at creating something yourself. With over 100 places to visit you may find yourself coming back for a second day. A free trail booklet with map is available and this will help you make the most of your visit. Winning both the Epic Award for Scotland and the regional Thistle Award for Best Visitor Attraction in SW Scotland this event is one to put down in your diary. Come along and be entertained by the players, arrested by the guard, perplexed by scientists, or even propositioned by a lady of ill repute. Listen in terror to the minister’s role in the witch trials. Prepare to be shocked, entertained, and to learn about the hard life the people of Kirkcudbright led 350 years ago.
